pART of Pontypridd Art Trail 2021
7th-9th May 2021
PINK ROOM (2021)
Installation Room, and Video Documentation.
I present to you a pink installation room that a celebrates a love for dance and the joy of the colour pink. Pink is a source of comfort for me, using pallet knife paintings and hand-crafted garlands, this space has been created to show how dance supported my wellbeing and others throughout the covid-19 pandemic.

The video documents an immersive performance engaging in the pink room, combined with audio of how the dancers of Pontypridd felt when asked how they embraced dancing during the pandemic, what inspires them to dance and what type of dance supports them.

I invite you to experience the magic of this piece through the video and installation located in Clwb y Bont.

The pART of Pontypridd Art Trail is an annual exhibition by the latest graduates from the BA(Hons) Creative and Therapeutic Arts course at the University of South Wales, Treforest Campus, in partnership with local organisations, initiatives, businesses, venues and sites in Pontypridd.

The Art Trail is an opportunity to honour and celebrate the wonderful place and people of Pontypridd who directly inspire the artwork created. This celebration will showcase the students, as well as the soul of Pontypridd.

As Community Artists, Participatory Artists, and Socially Engaged Arts Practitioners, we will be translating our artwork into something which actively encourages participation with the public.

We consider accessibility and inclusivity at the heart of our practice, so the exhibition content can range from street art, outdoor sculpture, textiles, and photography, to videos with captions, soundscapes, zines, dance, creative wellbeing packages, guided meditation, and even more!
